The Project Manager is responsible for the administrative and technical management of a construction project. The Project Manager functions as the point person for the project and steers the project forward. Successful candidates will be able to share their passion for and dedication to getting the job done.

Responsibilities:

As a CMG Project Manager you will be responsible for all activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals and procurement. You’re accountable for scheduling and facilitating project meetings, supervising and managing project teams, providing general administrative and technical leadership for the project, maintaining all project records and monitoring correspondence, as well as supervising the close out of a project.

But you will also be a leader. Someone who keeps the team motivated and on pace, and trains and develops direct reports utilizing on-the-job and internal and external training or development opportunities. You will also have to develop and maintain relationships with your counterparts at owner and design firms.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree required in       Engineering, Construction Management, or similar field. Graduate degree       in engineering or business a plus.
  • 5-7 years construction experience       required; working for a general contractor on large scale construction       highly preferred. DBIA and LEED Accreditation a plus.
  • Experience managing projects       successfully from start to finish.
  • Skilled at negotiating and       developing relationships with owners and subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and       motivate a team; minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to       work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for the work and industry       a must.

The Superintendent oversees all field operations on a project to ensure that self-performed and subcontracted trade work is in compliance with contract documents and the project schedule. Superintendents also implement and enforce safety and quality control policies among CMG employees and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise  the timely and cost-effective installation of the contracted work of  either 1) the total project or, due to size, scale and complexity, 2) a particular scope(s), subcontractor(s), or other portion(s) of the project
  • Provide on-the-job training opportunities for Assistant Superintendents and       Project/Office Engineers. Encourages and/or participates in staff training and development
  • Develop a plan for sequence of work. Develop project schedule. Plan and organize project work to assure all work is in place in accordance with contract       documents.
  • Have working knowledge of owner contract, subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Know the scheduled delivery dates for all critical path material and       equipment.
  • Know submittal schedule.
  • Update project schedule monthly and in accordance with contract documents.
  • Control field costs for CMG and subcontract work. Supervise field work force to assure all work is put in place in the most cost-efficient manner.
  • Schedule and monitor field productivity.
  • Have good working knowledge of equipment.
  • Implement safety program. Conduct regular safety inspections to assure all working conditions and work habits are in compliance with company, contract and       government standards. Take remedial action when required.
  • Implement the company’s safety policies and procedures and corporate QC policies and programs.
  • Assist in resolution of scope conflicts.
  • Participate in the project management functions.
  • Assure punch list is completed in a timely manner.
  • Participate in marketing proposals and presentations

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related discipline
  • 6+ years of experience with a large-scale commercial contractor or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience building high-rise residential projects successfully from start to finish.
  • In depth knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, etc.
  • Experience with a large-scale commercial contractor or equivalent industry experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Demonstrated ability to lead field operations
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations (i.e., OSHA)

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the administrative and technical management of a construction project.  The Senior Project Manager functions as the point person for the project and steers the project forward. · Develop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts at owner and engineering firms.

· Participate in proposals and presentations as requested.

· Demonstrate CMG Midwest safety culture by driving a safety-oriented approach to work.

Qualifications:

Estimator / Preconstruction Manager

CMG Midwest is seeking an experienced Estimator / Preconstruction Manager to support our Kansas City Office. The Estimating/Preconstruction Department is responsible for preparing budgets and bids for all CMG projects, and for continuous preconstruction on awarded projects that are in the development phase. The responsibilities of the Estimating/Preconstruction Department include compiling qualified bidders lists; issuing invitations to bidders; soliciting bids; preparing estimates for all CMG Midwest work, quantifying and pricing labor and materials; receiving bids; and reviewing bids to prepare total project costs. This key member of our team will passionately help promote the development of creative, innovative solutions to construction challenges and enjoy the acquisition of winning profitable work.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of professionalism and ethical behavior when representing the Company
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects
  • Lead or Perform portions of estimates for multi-discipline projects including       understanding scope and performing accurate quantity surveys.
  • Supervise and train other estimators in your primary area of expertise
  • Solicit Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes and evaluate them for scope and       qualifications
  • Lead meetings with Subcontractors to develop complete scopes and discuss strategy
  • Perform risk and contract management responsibilities as required on bids
  • Assist in developing a strategy to achieve minority participation requirements
  • Review total estimate to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quotation
  • Monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs
  • Research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods
  • Examine construction sites and observe unusual or challenging conditions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of estimating and cost control related experience.
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or related degree.
  • Field experience is highly desired.
  • Demonstrate the ability to either lead or be a part of a team for multiple projects and pursuits at any given time.
  • Knowledge of On Screen Take-off, Microsoft Excel, and Bluebeam software.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be detail oriented, technically sound and have good communication skills.
  • Must be familiar with both conceptual, detailed, and self-perform estimating.
  • Knowledge and experience with local subcontractor market is a plus.
